NCC has asked telecommunications companies including MTN, Airtel, Glo, 9Mobile, and others to ban any customers’ SIM cards that fail to register with the National Identification Numbers (NIN) within two weeks, as reported by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
President Muhammadu Buhari’s personal assistant, Bashir Ahmad, revealed the information on Tuesday through Twitter. A statement from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said that “the Commission has stated that it has allowed telecoms providers in the nation two weeks to disable any SIM cards that are not registered with the National Identity Numbers (NIN).
Documents Required to Register NIN To Your MTN
- During the registration procedure for your NIN to your mobile number, you may be asked for the following items
- A number of a mobile phone.
- Name in Its Complete Form.
- The NIN (National Identification Number) is a nine-digit number
- Send an email to [email protected]
- your birthday etc
In case you forget your NIN, dial *346# to get your National Identification Number at the NCC office. All network providers need a national identification number obtained.
